A Short Story: ARISE, ASPIRE, ATTAIN

This is a short story of my friend Ajay Bhasy. I strongly recommend you to read this story, because it worth. I found this as a nice read. Share it if you can.

ARISE, ASPIRE, ATTAIN

hope

“Depression is a global phenomenon that is tampering the lives of thousands of people worldwide per year. According to the statistics Depression affects 121 million people worldwide. It can affect a person’s ability to work, form relationships, and destroy their quality of life. At its most severe depression can lead to suicide and is responsible for 850,000 deaths every year.”

The room was dark. The Only light in the room was of the dimly lit fireplace. Shadows where cast on the walls as the flames danced in the fireplace. The whole atmosphere seemed dull and quiet as if waiting for the ultimate disaster. The king was sitting on an easy chair lost in his thoughts. His eyes had lost the old shine. His face looked tired. He hated to see the enemy’s flags dancing according to his country’s wind. He was in a stage of depression.
“At times of depression and hopelessness one should ‘look out through the window’. Then you will understand that all you have to do is to open the door and get out where tons of opportunities are waiting to embrace you.”
The old king looked through the window. The clouds were darkening. It is going to rain he thought. Suddenly a thunder struck. He woke from his thoughts. He moved towards the door as if guided by an invisible force. He opened it and stepped outside. He couldn’t believe his eyes. The raindrops of hope were falling. He listened carefully to the howling of the wind, he could hear them chanting the words ‘Arise’, ’Aspire’, ‘Attain’.
“Rain is a season of hope, the time when heaven brings its joy to earth. Embrace the rain drops with love and you will find a whole new meaning to LIFE.”
He felt light hearted after the rain. He could hear his conscience speaking to himself. The world itself is destructible, why not an army. He led his army again to enemy’s barracks with a new energy and won the war.

That is the magic of nature. Nature always provides a remedy to all the problems. A depressed person can always find his answer in Nature. Not one living thing in nature would live its life without tasting the bitterness of defeat. Yet life has to go on. Being an optimist is the best way to lead a happy life.
“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on” Said Robert Frost.
