I never be this much happy by reading a mail, this particular email words have a power to nourish your brain and body. I can read this mail for a complete day, and still I will not get bored. This time it is a duel happiness as I have got awarded for two categories, Microsoft Azure and Developer Technologies.

Introduction

In this article, we are going to create Microsoft Azure Cognitive Service Face API in half an hour. Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services are set of APIs and Services available for the developers to make their applications more interactive and intelligent. This was formerly known as Project Oxford. Here Microsoft uses Machine Learning in the background to create these APIs. So far we have the preceding list of APIs.

• Azure Subscription
• Visual Studio

Create the Face API in Azure portal

To know how to create a Face Recognition API in Azure portal, please see the video preceding.

Add reference of Microsoft.ProjectOxford.Face to your project

Before we start coding, please make sure that you add the reference of Microsoft.ProjectOxford.Face from NuGet package manager.

Using the code

To get started, open your Visual Studio and create a new WPF application.

Add Image and button control to MainWindow.xaml

Create an instance of IFaceServiceClient

If you are selecting the location as Southeast Asia while creating the Face API in portal, it is mandatory to use the second parameter, that is, your end point.

Load the image to image control

Detect the faces count

Draw the rectangles in faces found

Output

Now run your application and upload an image, it can be a single picture or a group picture.

Check the statistics in Azure portal

If everything goes fine, you will be able to see the statistics in your Azure portal as preceding.

Marvin: Once you access the exam page, scroll down and you will find the Preparation Options section where you’ll find all the available training resources for each exams.

Marvin: If you are in India the approximate cost is 4500 INR each.

Marvin: Keep in mind that training is a great first step when preparing for a Microsoft Certification exam, but it is not required and does not guarantee that you will pass the exam. Hands-on experience is required.

Unable to Launch the IIS Express Web Server

Background

In my team we have 5 to 10 members. Since we wanted to do a build for our current application, I used “Get the Latest files from the server”. (We are using TFS.) Then when I run my application I was getting this error.

The cause of this error is, someone has checked in the solution file with his port number (the port number he was using). When I took the latest, it was set in my solution file also. We must take the latest solution file only when it is required. So here I will share the remedy for the preceding issue.

Procedure to solve this issue

Step 1

Right-click on your solution and select Properties as shown in the following figure.

Select “Web” from the left menu.

Under “Use local IIS server” change the port number from http://localhost:58030/ to another one.

Here I have changed http://localhost:58030/ to http://localhost:58031/ .

Bingo! We have done it.

Now please run again your application. The issue will be solved.
