Practical Uses of QR Code

In this post, we will discuss the practical use of QR Code or Quick Response Code. For the past decades we humans have become accustomed to the representation of data digitally. In the past we would represent data using lines (“||||” represents 4 and when we cross it to represent 5).

After it had been introduced that instead of using lines, we started using bars in which a thick bar represents different data and a lean one represents another and white space represents 0.

As time passed, we all know that there is no limits for inventions.

We introduced QR Code

  • QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code).
  • First designed for the automotive industry in Japan.
  • Basically a QR code is a pattern that contains black dots and arrangements in a white background.
  • The pattern can be read using a Camera.
  • Invention

  • The QR code system was invented in 1994 by Toyota.
  • Its purpose was to track vehicles during manufacture.
  • Requirements

  • A QR Code depending on your criteria’s.
  • A QR Code reader (It can be downloaded and installed from the internet).
  • A QR Code reader reads the QR Code using cameras, so your phone must have that facility.
  • Generation

Generating QR Code using: QR Stuff.

    Website login

QR codes can be used to log in into websites: a QR Code is shown on the login page on a computer screen and when a registered user scans it with a verified smartphone, they will automatically be logged in on the computer.

How to Use a QR code

  • Your business, no matter how small or large could use QR codes in a number of ways. You could add one to your business card containing your contact details so it’s easy for someone to add you to their contacts on their cell phone.
  • Add them to any print advertising, flyers, posters, invites, TV ads and so on containing.
  • Product details
  • Contact details
  • Offer details
  • Event details
  • Competition details
  • Twitter, Face book, MySpace IDs
  • A link to your YouTube video

Your turn. What do you think?

A blog isn’t a blog without comments, but do try to stay on topic.
